Online Burning Permit System

If you wish, you may view the North Carolina General Statute Chapter 113, Article 4C: Regulation of Open Fires.

Before filling out an open burning permit application, please familiarize yourself with these Air Quality regulations related to outdoor burning.

Information provided to or gathered by the N.C. Division of Forest Resources is subject to the N.C. Public Records Law and may be disclosed to third parties upon request.

There are currently no burning bans or permit cancellations in effect from the N.C. Division of Forest Resources. Keep in mind that burning within 100 feet of an occupied dwelling is regulated by county authority, not the NCDFR.
